Lubis et al. (2011) carried out a thermodynamic analysis of a hybrid geothermal heat pump system. Kececiler et al. (2000) designed an abso rption refrigeration system with geothermal energy and experimentally analyzed its performance. Economic analysis of a typical geothermal resource shows that potential revenues from geothermal heating or cooling can be much larger than those from power generation alone. The aim of this paper is to compare both cycles (ORC and Kalina) in order to determinate, by mean of thermodynamic and economic criteria, which is the cycle that offer better performances for Brazilian conditions. This analysis is restricted to low temperature geothermal source (90-140 °C) and condensing temperatures of 37 °C. In other words, geothermal heat, thanks to thermodynamic cycles, can be turned into other types of energy used in steam turbines. Have a brief look on it: Thermodynamic cycle is about turning heat into work (we mean physical term of „work") under concrete pressure, temperature and other physical factors.
